Newspaper Web Traffic in Top Markets Leaps
to an All Time High

Newspaper websites in the top 25 markets continue to grow at rapid rate, reaching 83.7 million unique visitors in April, 2010, up 10 percent from March, 2010, and up 15 percent from January, 2010, according to data from comScore Media Metrix. Newspaper websites have more traffic and page views than CNN.Com, AOL News, and the Huffington Post.

"Newspaper websites delivered 2 Billion Page Views in the top 25 markets in April, a new record," said Jason E. Klein, President and CEO of the Newspaper National Network. "When compared to the Huffington Post, newspaper sites in the top 25 markets delivered more than five times the page views and more than four times the unique visitors."
The Newspaper National Network provides a network of these top 25 market sites, and other markets, to national advertisers. Newspaper websites in the top 10 markets experienced even greater growth in April 2010 with unique visitors up 13 percent and page views up 21 percent.
